To all our customers and anyone in need of eye care
In the midst of the current Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, we have decided to take extra measures going forward to protect our customers and our team members from unnecessary exposure. We will now only provide emergency and urgent eye care only to help keep minor eye care OUT of the hospitals at a time of need. We will be open, by appointment only, to provide emergency eye care FREE of charge and we will keep doing this as long as we can!
Eye examinations
We will remain open for emergency and urgent eye care only, which will be strictly by appointment only. We believe that under the current circumstance providing routine eye examinations is no longer responsible or sustainable. To protect people in vulnerable groups (older people and those with underlying health conditions) we feel we need to reduce close personal contact and maintain social distancing. If you have any concerns about your eyes please call us on either Greenfield 01457 353100 or Meltham 01484 907090 when we can discuss the best course of action by phone first or via our contact us page.
Please do not attend either of our practices for any reason if you are experiencing any symptoms linked to the virus (Fever, increased temperature, persistent cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, tiredness, aches and any flue like symptoms) If you are experiencing an eye emergency and have any Covid-19 symptoms you should call 111.
Glasses orders
In most cases, if you need prescription glasses ordering or a repair we can help, but we ask that you telephone us first. For prescription issues, broken glasses queries or concerns please phone us there are new measures in place that can help you. We will discuss your options and decide a course of action to minimise in-store contact time. We can also arrange for glasses to be posted or delivered to a safe distance. Repeat orders can be placed by phone or via info@allegrooptical.co.uk. If you have any outstanding spectacle orders we will contact you to arrange delivery.
Contact lenses
For reordering contact lenses or concerns regarding updating your prescription, please contact us and we can discuss the new measures. We can arrange for contact lenses to be posted to your home address.
In-Store Precautions
We are following the latest government guidance to protect staff and clients when in-store. Should you have any concerns relating to these measures please telephone us.
